Open Call for Seed Funding in 2025

Three different call types are included in this seed funding call.

IGNITE – Spark new ideas and early-stage collaborations.
CULTIVATE – Expand and strengthen existing partnerships.
ELEVATE – Advance the full potential of mature projects with global reach and interdisciplinary and intersectoral networks.

With the number of calls and budget limit per call being:

Approx. 1 IGNITE Up to 50.000kr.
Approx. 3 CULTIVATE Up to 100.000kr.
Approx. 1 ELEVATE Up to 150.000kr.

Requirements:

🎯 Purpose of the Funding

Support the development of new research ideas.
Strengthen established projects and collaborations.
Improve the quality of applications for external funding.

✅ Eligibility Criteria

Activities must address one or more of the Energy Mission’s five key challenges. 
Projects must clearly reflect a mission-driven approach, including: Interdisciplinary and intersectoral team composition.
Defined milestones for the project.
Identify which external funding calls your team wants to apply for.
A clear path toward societal impact.

🛠️ Eligible Funding Uses

Expenses for team building and expansion (workshops, outreach activities etc.).
Buyout of applying researchers, consultant support, lab equipment, and travel that supports idea development and funding applications.
A detailed budget needs to be included in the application, and usage must be reported during the project period.
Funding should primarily be spent within 2025.
